Late in 2012, walk leader Tom Dazell set out to walk every block of every street, path, and alley of Berkeley, cataloging and photographing the quirky material culture that serves as a physical and visible manifestation of our inward quirkiness. On this southside walk we'll view eccentric architecture, front-yards-as-art-galleries, and only-in-Berkeley whimsy. Stops include the Tsui fish house, Eni Green’s dachshund sculptures, the Wall of Democracy and many more major examples of Quirky Berkeley. This long walk covers several miles, so the pace will need to be moderate to ensure we catch all the sights. There will be a break midway with light refreshments. Well-behaved dogs on leash permitted. Rain cancels.
