What’s new in the 10th edition:

  • Cover featuring Berkeley Path Wanderers co-founder Jacque Ensign

  • Now four colors, with creeks in blue and parks and schoolyards in green

  • More points of interest: Public libraries, community and senior centers, swimming pools

  • Complete guide to streets and paths on UC and Clark Kerr campuses

  • Protected bike lanes

  • Gilman Street pedestrian-bike bridge over I-80

It’s no wonder the New York Times declared that we sell “a terrific map of all [Berkeley’s] secret routes and corridors.”

The map shows paths in bold blue solid lines that distinguish them from the streets (in shades of gold) and the 17 unfinished, impassable paths (in blue dashes). Major arteries are distinguished from lesser streets, and bicycle boulevards, protected bike lanes, and street barriers are clearly indicated. Handy indexes of streets and paths will help you find your way. The path index also indicates the number of steps on each stairway. Can you find the path with the most steps?

Our map is a best seller — 50,000 and counting! — for so many reasons! It’s printed on stain- and water-resistant paper that won't tear along the creases. It shows public restrooms; BART stations; existing and historic creeks; and paths on the UC Berkeley and Clark Kerr campuses, in parks (among them some in Tilden Park), and at the Berkeley Marina. The Ohlone Greenway and the Santa Fe Right of Way also are shown. Paths just across Berkeley’s borders in Oakland, Kensington, and Albany are included.

Looking for a special gift? Our maps are perfect! Some path devotees even give them to guests at weddings, graduations, bar mitzvahs, and other celebrations, and distribute them as favors at holidays and dinner parties. And why not?

At the reasonable price of $12, Berkeley and Its Pathways continues to be one of the best values in town! Get a 5-pack for $55 or 10-pack for $100!
