We LOVE the Paths!

February is American Heart Month, a great opportunity to highlight five reasons we love the paths!

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Donors!

In 2025, Berkeley Path Wanderers Association received more than $77,000 from 268 donors. Your generous donations made it possible for us to install handrails and rebuild paths. Our 100% all-volunteer organization could not do this without the support of our donors. We welcome donations anytime of year!

Upcoming Walks

Evening Walk at the Richmond Marina

When: Friday, February 20, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Leader: Alina Constantinescu

Distance: 3 miles

Start/End: Marina Bay Park, Richmond

Accessibility: Flat, paved sidewalks. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. Restrooms are available at the starting point.

Come enjoy the beautiful Richmond Marina and a nice stretch of the Bay Trail on an evening stroll. We'll explore fun sights along the way, maybe see a seal or two, and enjoy the sunset and the Bay breeze. Read more

Above the Claremont

When: Saturday, February 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Leader: Bob Johnson

Distance/elevation gain: 1.3 miles, 280 feet

Start: 2942 Domingo Avenue, Berkeley

Accessibility: Includes uphill and some long or rough stairways. Well behaved dogs on leash allowed. Restroom at start may be available if you are buying something from nearby cafe.

This moderately paced walk features fine architecture, an unusual view of the Claremont Hotel, bits of history, the neighborhoods affected by the 1991 fire, and of course a few paths. There is some uphill and a couple of stairways but overall no long steep uphill walking. Read more

Path Maintenance Work Parties

Join us for a path maintenance work party!

Monday, February 16th, 10:00 a.m. to noon

Saturday, February 28, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Do you enjoy working with your hands and seeing tangible results of your efforts? Join us to clean up Berkeley’s paths, work that’s mostly weeding, sweeping, raking, and clipping. We will have gloves and tools available, but feel free to bring your own. Please also bring your own water, as we won't be offering water or refreshments. Please RSVP to path.maintenance@berkeleypaths.org to receive an email confirming the meeting place.

To support Berkeley's paths, you can donate online. All donations are tax-deductible and go toward building new paths, repairing and clearing existing paths, purchasing handrails, and advocating for paths and walkers.
