Fifth Annual Great Path Walk
Sunday, September 24; 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Start: Marin Circle between Los Angeles and Del Norte (near mailbox)
Leaders: Jacob Lehmann Duke and Zeke Gerwein
Now a Berkeley tradition, the Great Path Walk involves walking every path in the city — in a single day! Jacob and Zeke, who first took up this challenge when they were preteens, welcome “anyone crazy enough to try the whole 33.5 miles.” But they also are happy to have less ambitious Path Wanderers who want to tackle only part of the route.
To make it easier for people to meet them along the way, Jacob and Zeke have divided the route into five segments each about seven miles, and designated checkpoints where people can join the walk. You’ll find more information about the route and the checkpoints
Each of the first four segments has a designated checkpoint at the end where you can join the group for the next part of the hike. These meet-up spots are marked with an “i” on this map of the route. If you plan to walk the third segment, please bring your lunch. And, as always, water and snacks are essential. Every few hours, there will be bathrooms and places to refill water bottles.
If you have questions, e-mail Jacob.
